So yesterday I wrote my post about my big Sunday plans of swimming, biking, running, etc.
It so didn’t turn out that way. lol. But it was awesome nonetheless.
My friend A and I met at the pool–except that there was no room for us. Every lane was occupied and nobody was sharing. So I suggested that we try water jogging. I had only done it a handful of times, and mostly just messing around, never seriously, prior to yesterday’s workout. Well, 40 minutes later, we had pluses racing, lungs working, glutes burning…and we got our workout in, in the deep end of the pool amongst the children jumping off the diving boards.
Then we went to Starbuck’s, where I gave A a sample of my Bailey’s Cheesecake for her and her hubby. I hope they liked it.
We may or may not have also sneaked in a quick visit to Costco (so love that I have friends with memberships there).
Then I headed home for some lunch, followed by a nap because I was starting to get a rather nasty headache. After an hour I still wasn’t asleep so I went for a bike ride for 20 minutes around my neighbourhood just to get the feel of being on said bike again as I haven’t ridden a bike with regularity since I was a teenager.
Post sweaty bike ride I was feeling pretty good, though still headachey. I was going to try and sneak in a quick run outside but it looked like rain and well, the combination or potential rain, run and headache just didn’t work for me. So I went inside, started some laundry and napped again. 90 minutes later it was dark and I was headache free. (YES!) Felt pretty good so I decided to ensnare my dad into a 45 minute power walk.
The rest of my night was all about prepping for the next day and not about my last graphics assignment. I was not feeling creative at all and the idea of sitting behind a computer and force creativity wasn’t working. So I guess I will have to do that today. Fortunately, I don’t have much else on the go today aside from a few small tasks and said graphics assignment–oh and a lunch power walk with my friend A.
So yeah…feeling much less crappy then last week…and I’m hoping that this vibe continues. This week will be my last travel week for a little while (yay) and after this week, I am really truly hoping to find my running legs again. I miss the feel of doing long runs. There really is something about cranking out a good 10 miles that just makes you feel deliciously accomplished and exhausted at the same time.
What are your Monday plans? Do you have a coasty day to start the week or are you getting slammed? Perhaps somewhere between? Whatever it is, I hope it is fabulous.
Luv,
Leesah
