Morning!

I want to start off by saying how happy I am that my running legs/mojo/whatever, have finally come back. The endorphins are hitting me like a wave and I have completely forgotten what this feels like after a year of struggling through a running rough patch. It’s one of the most amazing feelings in the world! And no, I am not being dramatic. It really is. I cannot believe it has been a year since I have felt this way…so floaty and happy and awesome!

I didn’t have much of an opportunity for random acts yesterday as I was chained to my desk. Today I plan on making up for it by taking my colleague out for a quick coffee this morning to our favourite hipster coffee shop, Parlour (#94). I still can’t believe that we can get coffee this good in Winnipeg now. Boggles. My. Mind.

#93 is volunteering to help work my friend’s wedding social on Saturday. In case you forgot, wedding socials are essentially a Winnipeg tradition that helps raise money to help pay for a wedding. I am also making a key lime pie for auction at the event, but the volunteer working (essentially selling silent auction tickets and taking admission/tickets) is a new thing.

Anyway, I will leave you all to enjoy your day and read some other blogs. Stay tuned as I might need your advice as I go through my shoe collection to decide what I should donate along with my clothes that I collected from the weekend. Care to help?

Much luv,

My work travel schedule has been relatively quiet over the past month (only 1 trip in May, one scheduled for June…vs say March, which had 3 in four weeks) and I am totally grateful as I was burnt out from a hectic 10 week period from mid February to late April that included lots of work and personal stress.

My upcoming June work trip actually begins on a Saturday–which, truth be told, is a bit of a drag, but there is a small silver lining–I am going to run a 10K race (an inaugural race, in fact) on the Sunday of that weekend before the event I am there for ramps up.

There is an opportunity to run a half marathon, but it’s a hilly, trail(!?!?!) course and I haven’t done anything longer than 7 miles since the Princess in February, and I don’t want to jinx it as the Dumbo Double Dare Challenge will be here before I know it. Plus, it means a 2 hour plus commitment and feeling exhausted all day, when I have to work.

I’m kind of excited about doing this as I missed out on my road trip to run the Fargo half this year and this feels like a nice substitute for it. Plus, I have never run a race in Alberta–this will be my first–and like I said, it’s a TRAIL race–eek! :) Oh and this will make spending my weekend working in another city a little less lame. :)

Oh AND…there are finisher medals! YAY! Time to add to my collection. I already have two for this year (Princess and the Winnipeg Police Service Half Marathon Relay medal) and know I will add two more from the 10K and half in Disneyland on Labour Day. I might need to try to find 8 more races so I can have 13 race medals for 2013! :)

Much luv and happy running!
