- Macarons–want to completely master this delicacy
Birthday cake–have never made myself one–(August 23, 2012)- Apple Pie–it’s classic–want to see if I can outdo my grandma! 😉
- Croissants–have tried this, was about 60% successful, want the full 100%

A non gingerbread gingerbread house–I hate gingerbread, love the houses–there has to be alternate options(December 20, 2012)- A cake (or maybe a cupcake?) decorated with marshmallow fondant–I’m not the biggest fan of the taste, but I would love to try it out just for sh!ts and giggles.
- Souffle–not sure why–maybe because it is supposed to be hard and I can’t think of anything else for the list.

I have a super pie crust recipe…:)
ooh! I might need a copy of it! 🙂
Here ya go – hope this helps!
This is good for 2 pie shells (or 1 double crust pie)
3 c flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 lb (2 sticks) unsalted butter
2-3 yolks or 1 whole egg
1/4 c (about) cold water
1. combine flour and salt in bowl. rub in butter by hand until mixture feels mealy (small bits of butter are still visible).
2. beat egg in measuring cup. add water to 1/2 mark (1/2 c is TOTAL of egg and water)
3. make a well in a flour-butter mixture and pour in liquid (basically this means to make a valley of sorts in the mixture and pour in the liquid so you work it out from there – hope that makes sense). work liquid in with rubber spatula.
4. flatten dough in two circles about 1/2-3/4″ thick. wrap in plastic and chill 2 hours to overnight.
when you roll out, roll from the center out. roll to 2 1/2 inches over. also turn it over and roll the other side too. this prevents cracks. when done, fold it in half and work into the pie pan. then brush the crust w/egg white to seal it.
do whatever filling and when you bake it…bake on low rung of the oven at 450 degrees for about 10 min. then lower the heat to 350 and bake until done. also make sure it doesn’t brown too much etc. use pie rings, etc. basically this technique helps make the crust extra flaky.
Awesome!!!! Thanks so much! I can’t wait to try this out!
indeed.
let me know if you have ?s
Will do, Lovely! 🙂
